Community Speaker Workflow Instructions
Welcome to the Community Speakers Program. Whether you are a speaker or an event organizer, we have broken down how the program works for you below, please take a moment to read over this workflow so you know what to expect. Thanks for being a part of the community.
NOTE: As a group leader or the requested speaker, you must be logged in to complete the required steps.
If you are a speaker
- You will receive an email with the request for you to speak.
- Visit the INETA website using the link in the request email to respond to the request. You may accept or decline the request or request a different date.
- If you decline to speak, the request is terminated and the leader is notified.
- If you accept the offer to speak or request a different date, you will be notified when the event is scheduled or if the leader decides to cancel the request.
- If the event is scheduled, speak at the event and be fabulous.
If you are a leader
- Using the Find and Request a Community Speaker page, request the speaker you wish to come to your group meeting or code camp.
- If the speaker declines the invitation, the request is complete.
- If the speaker accepts the request or requests an alternate date, you will be notified by email. Visit the site and either schedule the event or cancel the request.
- If you schedule the event and your group is located in the US, you have the option of generating an entry on the CommunityMegaphone.com website for your event.
- If the event is scheduled, have a great meeting.
- Once the event occurs, visit the site and provide speaker feedback. This is required to complete the event.
As either the speaker or the leader, you can contact the other interested parties (the leader, the speaker or the INETA admin) at any time during the process through the interface. Once the request is closed either by the event occurring, the request being refused or cancelled, if you visit the site for the request, you will see a full history of the steps that occured for the request. You can include comments at any step in the request processing. All comments are included in emails sent at each step. All emails are sent to all interested parties.
