INETA Speakers' Bureau Activities

The INETA Speakers Bureau is now taking requests for speakers. If you would like to request a speaker for your user group, please visit http://www.ineta.org and complete the request form shown on the Speakers Bureau page.

The INETA web site now has a complete listing of the participating Speakers' Bureau members, a process in place for User Groups to request speakers at their meetings. We currently have 19 speakers available to fulfill these requests.

Doug Seven, INETA Speakers' Bureau Member, presented at the Twin Cities .NET Users Group. Due to good local publicity and coverage in MSDN Flash, more than 70 people, (twice the usual number), attended the July meeting.

Doug talked about Advanced Topics with Data Grid and ASP.NET and received universal high marks on the survey that attendees completed. Attendees also gave high marks to the pizza, and more importantly, to INETA's support of their local user group.

Paul Sheriff will speak at South Sound Users Group, Olympia, Washington on August 8th. Paul Mehner, the User Group leader is working hard on generating publicity and expects a good turn out for this event.

INETA is pleased to announce that the User Group Specials page is now available at:

User Group Specials

The password-protected User Group Specials page allows people to receive significant discounts and other benefits from third party vendors. There are currently 25 vendors participating, with more being added every day!

As a member benefit of belonging to INETA, your user group members can get access to this page.

You should have received an announcement notice that you could relay to your members. If you did not, or if you need it re-sent, please drop us a note at ugspecials@ineta.org

CHECK OUT THE NEW FORUMS!

We've added a variety of forums to support INETA and User Group activities. Be sure to check them out. At this time we are not setup to handle all the users in your group, but all User Group Leaders are encouraged to try them out!

You will need to create a user name and password to get access to the forums and other unique services on the site.

FlaDotNET does Charity!

The Florida Dot NET user groups, www.fladotnet.net, has launched a series of projects intended to give developers the chance to work on a real .NET project AND provide a benefit local community groups.

To support this effort David Silverlight, Jason Beres and Sheri Nawrocki created a new sister website www.nonprofitways.com .

Response has been strong with over 70 volunteers signing up for the 3 projects currently under ways. Other user groups are invited to utilize the site for their own projects.

Currently the site is hosted by www.bycomputerways.com but we will be looking for hosting companies to provide development and hosting space at some point in the future.
