From our man in the field, Ralph Rivas Tech Ed Ambassador
I have an asterisk on the title this time because the title was almost âDay of the Dronesâ ⦠yes, itâs true, I was literally one number away in a 6 number sequence from winning the grand prize at the Apprenda Booth, one of the dozens of camera equipped, internet ready drones that are being handed out to lucky winners. I will have a blog on those things one day but for now, I can relax and talk about the main focus for the âmostly at the boothâ day.
So thank God for the Hands On Labs to help me learn things in the short time between the shifts although I did manage to get a class in (and picked up a major yammer tidbit that my professional colleagues are immediately making use of and subject again of its own blog)
We had a good number of folks interested in starting User groups and in places that are a bit under-represented at that so a very worthwhile thing. Even with the busy day at the booth, we took time to âgive back to the communityâ so to speak.
At the Show was something I saw for the first time (but probably there before) which was a place where attendees can help build, pack or decorate gifts for charity causes. They had Bicycles, Puzzle toys and candy baskets. By the time we got there all the bikes were built (the most popular thing to do according to the folks there) and all the candy baskets filled leaving the Toy Painting activity for us wanna-be-Santa-Elves ⦠Here is Julie Yack at work (very focused!) â¦
⦠and Robin Edwards clearly relaxed in her detailed work â¦
⦠do you get the impression that Kevin Griffin may have worked for Santa in a Previous Life? Nice Truck, Kevster 😉
⦠certainly all better than my âitâs a new color no one has seen before â¦. todayâ work of mine
No I did not keep the gloves ⦠and, for my dear wife, no NOTHING got on my clothes :-) (The Evidence will be returning shortly, dear.)
So letâs take a look at the winning work!
No wonder these guys make the big bucks! Oh ,,, my stuff was still drying in a special area so it did not make the cut. As they say, every little bit counts. Good Job INETA Directors!
And so along with almost winning something, at least my day ended well starting at my Selfie with Richard diZenega (SharePoint Apps Guru ⦠yes my friends I really did talk to that guy who did that blog ;-))
Yes ⦠he gave me the thumb! (That means that are problems will be solved!)
The Tech Ed folks definitely read everyoneâs mind so even before the day was over (with classes still going on) they treated us:
Ah ⦠it was the Fusion IO folks ⦠thanks Fusion-io folks ⦠I must remember to go to their booth today. Wonder if they are raffling out drones ⦠hmmmm
